Review ~ Becoming Calder by Mia Sheridan

Becoming Calder (A Sign Of Love)
by Mia Sheridan
published October 5, 2014
copy for review provided by author

Synopsis
There is a place in modern day America with no electricity, no plumbing, and no modern conveniences. In this place, there is no room for dreams, no space for self-expression, and no tolerance for ambition.

In this place, there is a boy with the body of a god and the heart of a warrior. He is strong and faithful and serves his family honorably. But he dares to dream of more.

In this place, there is a girl with the face of an angel and a heart full of courage. To her family, she is the vision of obedient perfection. But she dares to want that which she has been told can never be hers.

Becoming Calder is the story of good versus evil, fear versus bravery, and the truth that the light of love has always found its way into even the darkest of places . . . From the beginning of time, to the end of the world.

THIS IS THE FIRST PART IN A TWO-PART SIGN OF LOVE SERIES INSPIRED BY AQUARIUS. THE SECOND PART, FINDING EDEN, WILL RELEASE SIMULTANEOUSLY.

Review

Becoming Calder is a story of LOVE. Innocent love. Young love. Forbidden Love.

I’m going to try my best a give you a review of this fantastic book without giving too much of what the book is about away.

Calder lives a sheltered life within his community. He does his duty and follows the rules. That is until Eden arrives.

From the moment they lay eyes on each other life as they both know it will never be the same. Eden is not meant to be for Calder. She knows this, but her heart beats only for him. Calder knows that the feelings he has for Eden are forbidden, but he can’t stop dreaming about her.

Calder & Eden are like two magnets, they keep coming back to each other. They teach each other about life, strength and love. They are both strong, beautiful souls that know that their love is one of a kind. They also know that they cannot stay where they are and be together. Eden is meant for someone else. Someone not kind. Someone not loving. Someone that Calder has grown up admiring his whole life. Calder now sees things in a different light. He know knows the evil in which he has grown up in.

Will Calder and Eden be strong enough to survive the challenges that stand in their way of love?

Becoming Calder was such a fantastic read! I really loved it! This was such a unique story. That is what I can always count on with Mia Sheridan. Something different. Something one of a kind.

This book does end with a bit of a cliffhanger, but luckily, Mia released Finding Eden at the same time as Becoming Calder, so you don’t have to wait to find out what’s next! In fact……I need to get back to reading. My review for Finding Eden should be up in a few days.
