MY REVIEW

A lot of readers will stay away from book series until they are complete. I have many friends that will not think twice when they see a #1 after the title, it's a DO NOT READ UNTIL COMPLETE book for them. They say its hard to remember what happened in the books when there are months between them. They don't want to be confused when reading the other books.

But what they don't get is when a series is done RIGHT, when the first book can grab a hold of you and make you want to wait 4 or 5 months for the next one, then it is all worth it. Because the books are written so well, so amazing that there is no way you can forget what happened, because it stays in the back of your brain, FOREVER.

The Darkness Series is that for me. I read the first 2 books back to back and after I was LIKE WTF, why am I just now reading these books. The story, the characters, the need to keep reading because the sexual tension between Ember and Eli wanted to make you explode. Each book takes you on a ride and you don't want to get off. You are rooting for them and wanting them to finally get what they deserve.

The first two books were so good and I patiently waited for book 3.

That book KNOCKED me into a galaxy I never knew existed. I LOVED that book. Everything I ever wanted to happen, happened in that book. Eli became a god to me. The back and forth banter, the angst between them and finally we got what we always wanted.

Dwellers of Darkness is "IGNITE YOUR PANTIES AND MAKE TURN YOU VAJAYJAY INTO A RIVER" hot.

So, since Dwellers of Darkness left me on such an amazing high and needing a fire extinguisher, I put Blood Beyond Darkness on a very high pedestal. I had expectations for the way I wanted this series to end. You never want to say good bye to your book characters, but all good things must come to an end.

SHE NAILED IT. All my questions were answered, all my hopes and dreams came true. She gave us readers everything we could hope for and so much more.  She matched the level extreme hotness and turned into LOVE MAKING.

"Love is not a substantial enough word for how I feel about you, Brycin. Never has been."

But along the way, she tore me apart, ripped my heart out of my body and made me scream NOOOOOOO way to many times in a span of 20 minutes. I know that it all was going to come to a ahead and shit had to happen, but SHE BROKE MY HEART.

"Ta gra agam ort."

I have to give her so many high fives because she didn't ruin the series. She didn't fuck with what is perfect or change what we love about Eli and make him a water downed version of himself. She gave us an ending that is so very perfect for Eli and Ember and that makes me her fan for life. I will read everything she writes because she wrote such a perfect series.

Stacey Marie Brown gave me a world that I could escape into and lose myself in. Each book got better, they evolved and became apart of me. I don't want to have to move on, I don't want to think about a future with no more Ember and no more Eli. But, I my life will go on and this will be a series I will forever re-read.
