Blog Tour~ Six of Hearts by L.H. Cosway

“Come on upstairs, and I’ll get you some antiseptic for that,” I whisper, touching his hand for a second. I slip off my heels and leave them at the bottom of the stairs.
He follows silently behind me, and I wonder if he’s checking out my arse again like last time. I don’t have the courage to turn around and investigate, though.
When we reach the bathroom, I pull a bottle of antiseptic from the shelf and some cotton wool from the cupboard. Jay sits down on the edge of the bathtub, watching me.
“You really shouldn’t have attacked that man,” I say. “I’ve had worse things said to me over the years.”
His eyes darken. “Who’s said worse to you, Matilda?”
I shrug it off. “Almost every time my friend Michelle and I go out, we get crude stuff shouted at us. I think it’s all part and parcel of being around drunk men with no filters.” I pause and amend, “The women can be fairly nasty at times, too.”
“Well, that’s probably because they’re jealous. And the men do it because they misguidedly think it’ll get them laid.”
I laugh softly and pour some antiseptic onto the cotton wool before sitting down beside him and bringing it to his hand. “‘Misguided’ is definitely the right word.”
When the cotton wool meets his knuckles, he hisses and curses, “Motherfucker.”
“You know what? You Boston-Irish swear even more than us Irish-Irish,” I joke.
“Yeah,” says Jay. “I’ve got a dirty mouth, but it’s mostly used for good.”
I glance at him. The way he’s looking at me makes me feel all funny and hot, so I hand him the cotton wool.
“There. You can finish yourself off,” I say, standing up.
I have to resist the urge to face palm when I see the size of his smile. Sometimes I think my brain might just be a gaping hole containing nothing but unconscious innuendo.
“You know what I mean,” I mutter as I open the door to leave.
“Oh, I know exactly what you mean,” Jay calls after me.
“I’m going to bed.”
“Sleep tight.”
I can still hear him chuckling as I close my bedroom door.

L.H. Cosway is the master when it comes to creative stories. MASTER! Every time I hear she is working on something new I get REALLY REALLY EXCITED. She never disappoints and she always surprises me with a story. She gets me excited about reading. She does more than just weave a perfect story full of unique and interesting characters and plots, she makes it an art form. Her brain is so imaginative and fantastic I want to spend a day lost in its mazes. No one can craft a story like her. Not only does she come up with the lovely and strange and mysterious and romantic she does it repeatedly. Book after book after book.  Six of Hearts is a spectacular story full of mysterious twists and turns and romantic moments. I read it in one sitting. Because L.H. Cosway books demand to be read in one sitting.   Our story is told by shy, sweet, innocent Matilda  who works for her attorney father by day and is a seamstress by night. Her life changes the minute Jay, a sexy as hell illusionist walks into the office looking for legal representation. Did you just swoon when you read illusionist? You should. Jay is as swoony as they come. You are in for a real treat. A friendship forms between the two but it is obvious that they both have feelings for each other. However, Jay has secrets, lots of secrets that he can't least not yet.

As the secrets begin to unfold you fall more in love with the story and with Matilda and Jay. However, in true L.H. Cosway fashion she keeps us guessing how things are going to end. Which leads me to another thing I love about L.H. Cosway's writing. The fact that she finishes things, she WILL show you all her cards, you just have to wait for the big reveal. And let's face it, it's always worth the wait.

Another great read by Cosway! I know you all will enjoy this one too.

Release Day Blitz ~ Lead by Kylie Scott

Lead Kylie Scott BANNER
Title: Lead (Stage Dive, #3)
Author: Kylie Scott
Publication Date: July 29, 2014
Publisher: St. Martin's Griffin

Stay up all night with the sexy rockers in Stage Dive, the epic rock star romance series from New York Times bestselling author Kylie Scott, author of Lick and Play. As the lead singer of Stage Dive, Jimmy is used to getting whatever he wants, whenever he wants it, whether it's booze, drugs, or women. However, when a PR disaster serves as a wake-up call about his life and lands him in rehab, he finds himself with Lena, a new assistant to keep him out of trouble. Lena's not willing to take any crap from the sexy rocker and is determined to keep their relationship completely professional, despite their sizzling chemistry. But when Jimmy pushes her too far and Lena leaves, he realizes that he may just have lost the best thing that ever happened to him.
“Lena, you seen my old black Led Zep shirt?” “Nope.” “You sure?” His brows became one dark cranky line. The scratches on his face were healing well, thank goodness. Though it didn’t reduce my desire to throttle his mother on a daily basis. “Yes. I haven’t seen it.” Can’t find it anywhere…” “And this is a surprise, how?” I slipped my hands into my back jean’s pockets. “Jimmy, you own more clothing than Cher, Brittney, and Elvis, put together. Things are bound to go missing.” “Sure you haven’t seen it?” “For goodness sake, what do you think, Jimmy? That I stole it to sleep in or something?” I laughed bitterly. Sure as hell, the truth deserved a good mocking. I’d sunk so despicably low. I hadn’t even meant to steal the stupid thing, but the shirt had been mixed up with my laundry a few days ago. It’d been the first top I laid my hand on after stepping out of the shower, ready to go to bed. Without thought, I’d put it on and it’d been so soft, the scent of him lingering beneath the laundry detergent. Every night since, I’d found myself in it come bedtime. My shame knew no limits. And no, I still hadn’t quit. The words still hadn’t come even close to leaving my mouth. He frowned. “No.” “That I have some deep secret longing to feel close to you resulting in my stealing your shirt like some creepy perv?” “Course I don’t fucking think that,” he replied crankily, reaching up to grip the top of the doorframe. All of his bulging muscles stretched the arms of his white T-shirt in the nicest way. It was all I could do not to start drooling, my heart beat taking up residence somewhere down between my thighs. And who could blame it? Not me. Maybe if I got laid, this would go away and things would return to normal. It’d seemed safer to avoid rubbing up against any men just in case I got carried away and started dating again. This new situation, however, changed everything. “Well, of course not! That would be crazy.” And wasn’t that the god’s honest truth? Cray-zeee. Lock me up and throw away the key because it wasn’t like I didn’t know better. “Just can’t figure out where the hell it could be.” Angels couldn’t have smiled as innocently. They might have tried, but they would have failed, the dirty-mouthed, winged, little liars. “Jimmy, I don’t know where it is. But I’ll look around for it later, okay?” “Yeah,” he said, and then added as an afterthought, “and stop looking at me weird.” “I’m not!”

My Review
Jimmy is my favorite. There, I said it. From the moment I meet him in Lick.....I thought, now there is a man I want to get to know more. He has secrets. He has issues. He is an Asshole. He is sexy as hell. Totally my kind of man. To say I was excited to read Lead is an understatement. I needed to peel Jimmy like an onion and see what was lurking beneath his expensive suits and death glares. But I needed help. Kylie Scott knew just the person. Lena Morrissey. Lena is a no nonsense, don't take any crap from anyone kind of woman. Feisty and curvy and just who Jimmy needs to keep him in check. She is the rock that Jimmy desperately needs. The friend that he has never had. In Lead, we learn just how broken Jimmy is. We learn about all the crap that he shielded David from. Even as an adult he tries to shield his brother from their money hungry, addicted mother. We begin to realize why Jimmy is such a jerk. It's easier to keep people at a distance rather then to let them in and hurt you. That is until Lena.

photo jimmy2_zps37f2d38a.jpg I LOVED that Jimmy and Lena went from barely tolerating each other to a friendship to lovers. I mean this is real life people! (winks). It was so funny to see that Jimmy had no clue that Lena was attracted to him.

"You're watching me all the time and it's fucking creepy.I can't take it anymore."

I LOVED that when Lena started realizing that she was developing feelings for Jimmy she told him, and then he promptly told her that she was out of her mind and that there was no way she could like him that way.

"You'll get over this dumb crush you've got on me and I'll do us both the immense favor of forgetting this ever happened, okay?"

I LOVED that Lena was able to burrow her way under Jimmy's tough exterior to see the sweet, funny, caring Asshole that he really is, even if he does not see it in himself. Have I mentioned how incredibly HOT Jimmy is? How when Jimmy and Lena finally hook-up it is beyond orgasmic? How a certain singer really knows how to use his tongue. blushes

Okay, I LOVED everything about this book. I don't want to reveal to much.....but there is a lot of things going on in Lead. Dave & Ev make lots of appearances. Mal & Anne, along with killer, pop in quite a bit......and we even learn a more about Ben and his love interest. There is even a shirt that has deer fucking (even a threesome). I.KID.YOU.NOT. If you are looking for a slow burning, friends turn lover story that has a smexy singer and a feisty strong woman that calls said singer on his shit.....then LEAD is perfect for you.
